Custom Massage for Mental Health

This massage does not rely solely on the relaxation effects of massage therapy. It combines an array of modalities tailored to each client's individual needs to support emotional well-being and mental health.

This massage treatment is primarily Swedish (light to medium pressure using long, gliding strokes) and may be combined with other modalities based on individual client needs.

Somatics combines trainings based on Bessel Van der Kolk's book, The Body Keeps the Score, along with emotional body mapping and kinesiology to explore how the body expresses past and present experiences,. This exploration process provides a guide to applying mind-body healing to support grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery.

Aromatherapy has been shown to improve mood, enhance relaxation and more. Using customized blends for your individual needs, we can introduce aromatherapy into the massage session and into your aftercare support plan.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping) is an effective treatment for anxiety, PTSD, pain, depression and more and has been accepted and used by the Veterans Administration (VA). This modality can be incorporated into your session and included in your aftercare support plan.

Lymphatic Drainage has been shown to support stress and anxiety in early trials as well as in our case studies. We can combine this modality into your session or focus on this treatment specifically for your needs.

Reiki has been shown to support stress and anxiety in research with further studies indicating possible support for other emotional needs. This modality is easily incorporated into any session.

Acupressure works similarly to acupuncture by applying pressure to the same meridian points without the use of needles. Research indicates its usefulness is helping symptoms of grief, depression, anxiety, and pain. This modality can be incorporated into your session and included in your aftercare support plan.

Delta Wave massage is uniquely supportive in reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety and promoting overall relaxation. This technique can be used in your session if you're looking for overall relaxation in your service.

Vagus Nerve Toning is helpful in activating the parasympathetic nervous system. This important cranial nerve is a key component to the body's response system to stress, and increasing the tone of the vagus nerve helps us turn on fight or flight response when needed, then slipping back into rest and digest when needed. This nerve also connects into the "gut", another important component of our mental health. Incorporating this modality in your treatment can help you gain a better ability to navigate stress without staying "stuck" in a sympathetic state.
